At Higher Level this course is highly respected by university chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, medicine, veterinary, dentistry and other science related departments. Standard Level is available for those interested in gaining a grounding in the study of chemistry. Chemistry is only available in Group 6 and is taken in place of a creative subject.
You will be assessed through internal and external examinations.
At Higher Level, this course serves as an ideal preparation for university study in chemistry, biochemistry, the sciences, medicine, veterinary science, dentistry, pharmacy and chemical engineering. The study of chemistry at either level provides skills that are relevant to most careers.
You need at least six GCSEs in the 9 to 5. Chemistry at Higher Level requires a 7 or higher in double science or a 6 or above in chemistry at GCSE.
