Accounting AAT Advanced Diploma Level 3 (Afternoon) - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

This course is forpeople considering a career in accountancy, wishing to work in finance or currently working in an accountancy firm and wanting to gain an accounting qualification recognised within the accountancy and finance industries.

Study topics will include:

  • Final accounts preparation
  • Advanced Bookkeeping
  • Management accounting: costing
  • Indirect Tax (VAT)

All learners will need to be registered with AAT. Key course material will need to be purchased via the College’s online store. Any exam resits will have to be paid for by the student.

Assessment Methods

Assessment against the standards of competence takes place through either a computer-based test, marked online by the computer, or computer-based assessment, marked externally. All computer-based exams will take place on a Friday following the delivery of each module of study

In addition to individual modular exams there will be a synoptic assessment to cover all the topics as well as ethics for accountants and spreadsheets for accountants.

Progression Options

Subject to passing all the exams or successful reference as applicable, students can progress to the Accounting AAT Diploma Level 4 to continue their studies.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are advised this is an intensive course requiring considerable
commitment on their behalf. They should be computer literate and able to use
both Microsoft Word and Excel to at least a reasonable standard.


Applicants should hold the AAT Level 2 Certificate or an equivalent
qualification and be working in the profession and competent with double-entry
bookkeeping.


They will be expected to undergo a formal interview and successfully complete
a formative assessment to determinewhether the course is appropriate for
them.
