Course Overview

This course has been designed for those planning to return to work, change careers or to update skills. It will help you to develop business administration and word processing skills, studying a broad range of topics as well as developing skills to help gain future employment. You will develop wider understanding of the attitudes and principles of working in a business administrative environment. This includes specific tasks and responsibilities experienced on a daily basis in the workplace. You will demonstrate the skills required for carrying out basic administrative tasks, for example communicating verbally and in writing, producing business documents, storing and retrieving information, and using office equipment. You will study the following units: Business Communication Health and safety in a Business Environment Business Administration Personal Performance and Development Working in a Business Environment Working with others in a Business Environment Manage Time and Workload Use Office Equipment Using Email Word Processing Software.

Assessment Methods

Assessement is through simulated work environments within the College, observation, work product and knowledge questions.

Progression Options

On successful completion you could work in customer service or business administration.
