This programme is offered to students who are employed full-time in the farming industry and who wish to study on a day release basis. The course provides the skills, knowledge and competence required by students planning to move into farm management and eventually run a business.
Whilst at work, students will receive comprehensive training in the practical and theoretical aspects involved in the management of a farm/ farm enterprise.They will be visited in the workplace by an assessor to check on progress and to ensure thatthey arebuilding evidence towards their final qualification.
The programme includes generic business skills and depending on the type of farm also provides more specific higher level skills and knowledge relating to crops and livestock management.
Students study two core components:
Continual assessment both within the workplace and at College.
Assessment methods include:
Agricultural Management Foundation Degree Level 5 at the University Centre Somerset (in partnership with Bridgwater & Taunton College).

It is brilliant here, I have made lots of friends and the tutors are excellent. I am a hands-on learner and sometimes find studying hard and need extra help. My tutors have been fantastic and are always willing to help me. I have gained confidence in myself during my course and now have knowledge of all areas of farming.
