Beginner's Pottery (afternoons) - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

A creative pottery course suitable for beginners and those with some experience eager to work with clay in our newly refurbished ceramics workshop.

The course will include making pinch, slab or coil pots. You will also have the opportunity to fire and glaze all of your work.

This subsidised pottery course makes good use of our purpose-built ceramics workshop and highly qualified staff. It provides a great opportunity to start a pottery class before the termly evening classes start in September.

The course cost includes the first kilo of clay. Further clay can be purchased at cost from the College, charged per kilo (or part of).

Progression Options

We will be running weekly evening classes in the coming academic year which will run for a three terms.

An apprenticeship has been the best option for me since I benefit from working in the industry as well as gaining a qualification. College days give me time to work on my assignments and explore features in the software I haven’t covered at work. During the rest of the week, I develop client relationships which help build my confidence and improve my ability to express ideas.
