This is a unique taster day that we hope will lead to a six week course later this year. The day will focus on the creation of some craft and art pieces with a spiritual dimension of your own choosing. The course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience of creating and crafting. It is ideal for those feeling in need of some time to reflect or de-stress. The tutor will provide feedback to help you learn and master new activities and techniques. This course is highly flexible so you will have ample opportunity to influence your own creations. The course is explicitly designed to help you reduce your own stress and help you feel confident about creating art and craft without judgment for your own emotional wellbeing and happiness. It is intended to be a soothing experience exploring mixed media and print techniques to explore self-expression. Over the day the plan is for you to explore creativity for pure enjoyment and recreation as a way of making space to help you unwind. We hope that by the end of the day you will leave with a creation that has personal meaning that you have made with your hands having learnt one or more skills along the way. Please feel free to bring with you crystals, knitting or crochet for potential skills-share with like-minded people or even the mindfulness colouring book? Merry, the tutor, has 30 years’ experience of teaching art and design and has a personal interest in all things esoteric and the healing effects of creative arts and crafts. She is not a qualified art therapist but is very keen for you to come and play!
We are hoping this course will lead to a longer course where a number of therapeutic crafts are explored including personal mandalas and symbols, mini shrines or altars, vision boards, affirmations and inspirational quotes, art journaling, dream catchers and more.
