Who the course is for? This is a new creative ceramics course suitable for those with some experience of working with clay and producing ceramics and those with no previous experience but looking to get started in working with clay. What makes this course special? This course is ideal for those looking to experiment creatively using the potential of clay to create individual works of art. The course tutor fires work each week so after the first week expect to spend time in each session both creating new work and completing pieces from previous weeks using different glazes. What is involved? This course makes use of some great facilities to enable you to work on creative and individual projects throughout the term. The course will start with an introduction to the workshop and provide some inspiration to begin to make choices about what you will make and how. Ongoing guidance and support if needed will be given as you develop your work. There will be full instruction and demonstrations and feedback will be given throughout.
There are no formal assessments for this course but each week you will be given some creative input and asked to respond. Feedback through the session will be provided by your tutor. If agreeable to all, peer critiques can also be part of each session.

|Attendance Requirements||One afternoon a week, for 2.5 hours|
An apprenticeship has been the best option for me since I benefit from working in the industry as well as gaining a qualification. College days give me time to work on my assignments and explore features in the software I haven’t covered at work. During the rest of the week, I develop client relationships which help build my confidence and improve my ability to express ideas.
