Course Overview

This course is a creative pottery course suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience easger to begin to work with clay.

It is a subsidised pottery course that makes good use of our purpose-built ceramics workshop and highly qualified staff. It provides a great opportunity to explore the creative potential of clay.

The course will include making pinch, slab and coil pots.You will also have the opportunity to fire and glaze all of your work.

All the costs of the clay, glazes and firing are included in the course fee.

Assessment Methods

You will be given instruction for each technique and feedback and support to help you develop your confidence and techniques when working with clay.

There are termly courses planned from September onwards.

Attendance Requirements This course runs for 10 weeks in the autumn and spring terms, and 9 weeks in the summer term. The course runs on Tuesday afternoons.

An apprenticeship has been the best option for me since I benefit from working in the industry as well as gaining a qualification. College days give me time to work on my assignments and explore features in the software I haven’t covered at work. During the rest of the week, I develop client relationships which help build my confidence and improve my ability to express ideas.
