Progressive Creative Printmaking | Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

This course provides an opportunity to extend your creative skills and develop your identity as a maker by examining and experimenting with various printing techniques. This course is open to anyone interested in exploring the history and creative potential of printing. It will especially suit those who have had some experience with printing processes in the past, are looking to extend their skills to work on more ambitious and complex prints, and are prepared to exhibit their work at the end of the course within the Arts House. This new and exciting course has been created in response to learner requests and the interests and specialisations of our tutor. The course is highly practical and involves a range of creative techniques. You will be supported in exploring the potential of these mediums. The course has no additional costs. However, in the second half, you are encouraged to experiment and develop your own creative style, which may involve supplying your own specialist materials. Please bring your rubber gloves and apron!

Assessment Methods

This is a non-accredited course and does not include formal assessments. However, your tutor will provide feedback each week to help you progress.

Spotlight

An apprenticeship has been the best option for me since I benefit from working in the industry as well as gaining a qualification. College days give me time to work on my assignments and explore features in the software I haven’t covered at work. During the rest of the week, I develop client relationships which help build my confidence and improve my ability to express ideas.
