ATA Light Vehicle Inspection - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

For those who are thinking of becoming an MoT tester, but feel anxious about sitting the NTTA exam. The VoSA will now accept the ATA Assessment Light Vehicle Inspection as proof of exemption from the exam.

The ATA Light Vehicle Inspection route is also ideal for technicians whose job role involves the inspection, maintenance and repair of light vehicles.

Inspection technicians must be able to work unsupervised – ideally, they should be in full time employment with at least three years’ experience to ensure they are familiar with the techniques for vehicle servicing, inspection and system(s) diagnosis.

For those looking to become a nominated MoT tester, please visit the VoSA website for full details of their requirements.

The fee includes registration, certification and assessment. The College does not charge VAT.

Assessment Methods

To become an accredited ATA Light Vehicle Inspection Technician, candidates must pass a series of practical assessments and an online knowledge test.

Each assessment has an allocated time in which to complete the task.
