Course Overview

This course is our second leisure course offer in automotive painting.

Candidates who have attended our BTCC Stage 1 Car Paint Spraying course, will find this course beneficial if they wish to further their knowledge in water based paint and clear coat usage and application techniques.

During the course you will study the application of water based paints including metallic. You will learn the techniques required to colour match, prepare surfaces to accept paint, how to blend and flick in base coat colours and fade out and blending of clear coats (lacquer). Towards the end of the course you will also study smart repair procedures.

Candidates need to have successfully attended our BTCC Stage 1 Car Paint
Spraying course, and supply your own overalls and sturdy boots.

Attendance Requirements You will attend college for one evening every week for 7 weeks. The sessions last for 3 hours per evening.

I’ve really enjoyed learning all about the internals of cars and what a car relies on to run smoothly. This benefits me in the workplace because I know how parts work when I come to repair or replace them. So far my greatest achievement has been passing the first year. I’m really proud of this because it means I’m on track to becoming a qualified mechanic.
