This course is suitable for those with a keen interest in beauty therapy and an enthusiasm and commitment to working in the industry.
Units include theoretical knowledge and practical understanding. These may include:
· Working in the beauty industry
· Follow health and safety in the salon
· Client care and communication
· Promote products and services
· Provide facial skincare
· Remove hair using waxing techniques
· Provide manicure treatments
· Provide pedicure treatments
· Provide eyelash and brow treatments
· Apply make-up
· Salon reception duties
· Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty industry
You will be taught in class contact sessions including lectures, tutorials and workshops.
Assessment is on-going and through online examinations, practical assessments, written coursework, presentations and a final exam.
You could progress to a Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapies or Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies, a business course or short courses. Alternatively, you could find employment in beauty salons or spas, become self-employed or work as a mobile therapist.
Previous students have worked at Cedar Falls, Rookery Manor, and Cadbury Spa, and many have set up their own mobile businesses.

you are under 19, you need five GCSEs in the 9 to 2 range with
English, Maths and Science, or an appropriate Level 1 qualification.
Acceptance is subject to a successful interview.

I found the entire experience of studying my Level 2 course really rewarding, that I decided to further my knowledge by completing a Level 3 course. I’m continually learning new skills and it’s really helping my professional development in the workplace.
