Course Overview

This FREE 12 week Skills Bootcamp has been designed for people who wish to retrain to gain practical skills and knowledge in coding and software development and prepare them for progression onto an apprenticeship, further study or employment in the Digital sector.

During this Skills Bootcamp there will be opportunities to hear from employers about current vacancies which you would then be encouraged to apply and interview for.

Digital is a broad and growing sector that involves using and developing a wide range of technologies. It can cover everything from digital design to software development, from mobile apps to artificial intelligence, from robotics to data science.

The course will be delivered remotely using Microsoft Teams, online learning materials will provide you with flexibility for your studies and we will provide you with individual tutor support when you need it.

On completion of the Digital Programming Bootcamp, you will have gained essential technical and professional skills in computer coding equivalent to level 3.

  • Module 1 – Introduction to and computer programming
  • Module 2 – Data types, variables, basic input-output operations, basic operators
  • Module 3 – Boolean values, conditional execution, loops, lists and list processing, logical and bitwise operations
  • Module 4 – Functions, tuples, dictionaries, and data processing
  • Module 5- Modules and packages
  • Module 6 – Strings, string and list methods, exceptions external tool
  • Module 7 – Object-oriented programming
  • Module 8- Practical uses of programming

Additional costs:

Should any specific equipment be needed for the course, this will be provided for you. However, you will be expected to have access to a computer to complete any online learning.

Assessment Methods

Assessment will be varied forms of internal assessments. These include written coursework, tests and practical work.

I decided to do Level 2 Business which I thoroughly enjoyed which made me chose to develop my understanding of Business and so then I went on to do Level 3 in Business. I have gained confidence, knowledge and multiple skills throughout the course and It has helped me to understand what I want to do in the future.
