Course Overview

Learn the skills and techniques to make a display of orchid, Peony, Heirloom Rose and foliage and arrange in a setting of your choice.

This course is suitable for those with some experience of sugarcraft and cake decoration looking to extend their skills.

Thecourse is run by an experienced sugarcraft tutor and professional wedding cake designer. The course cost includes the cutters, tape and tools you will need to carry on at home. Learners will need to bring tool box and equipment, Squires Kitchen flower paste, a block of dry oasis or polystyrene cake dummy, a deep box with lid and some packing materials to safely transport your developing sugarcraft flowers.

In this course you will create cattleya orchids, peony and heirloom roses with foliage. You will learn how each flower and leaf layer is made and assembled, how to apply dust using edible petal dust to create depth and colour to enhance your flowers and foliage and arrange in a setting of your choice.

Assessment Methods

The tutor will provide demonstrations and feedback to ensure you know how to accomplish each stage of the process and give you ample time in which to do it.

We are offering a range of adult evening sugarcraft courses throughout the academic year to suit a variety of interests and abilities.

There are no entry requirements for this course excepting some previous
experience and an enthusiasm to learn how to decorate cakes with more
finesse.  

Attendance Requirements One evening a week with the possibilty of some home work maybe required.
