Apply Now CCNSG Renewal Grace Period Due to a number of CCNSG courses being cancelled at short notice the ECITB recognise that some delegates, when able to re-attend a course, will have a card that has exceeded the 3 month expiry grace period for renewal. In the majority of cases that will be at no fault of the delegate and as such the ECITB will be extending the grace period for renewal to 6 months from anyone attending a course after Monday 16th March 2020. This extension will be reviewed regularly over the coming months and updates communicated accordingly.
The CCNSG Renewal Course is a one day refresher course for those who have already passed the CCNSG National Course. This has to be taken within three months of the Safety Passport expiry date. If it is not taken within the specified time then the two day CCNSG National Course will have to be retaken.
Background to the Scheme
The Client/Contractor National Safety Group, or CCNSG, is a consortium of major industrialists from the power generation, steel, oil, gas and chemical industries who recognised the need to train contractors on basic safety to a common standard. The group has standardised basic safety training and devised a core curriculum which has now become a national training scheme.
Representatives from major clients serve on the CCNSG steering group and there is also representation from contractors, training providers, trade unions and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The CCNSG meets regularly to ensure that standards are being maintained and that the content of the training scheme continues to meet current safety legislation and safety practices.
