Skills Bootcamp in Construction & Civil Engineering - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

This Bootcamp is an opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge relating to Steel Fixing, Groundworks and Health & Safety.

During your 6 week programme, you will work towards and achieve the CSCS card which enables you to access work on Construction Sites.

You will be required to work as part of a team during your Work Experience Project and will learn how to demonstrate the HPC Values and Behaviours.

Units of study/what is involved:

  • Health & Safety Training
  • Steel Fixing & Civil Engineering basic skills
  • Work Experience Project (working as a team on the college’s construction site)
  • English, maths and digital skills

  • Multiple choice exams (CSCS card test)
  • Practical assessments
  • Face to face employer interview techniques
