IT User Skills Distance Learning Level 2 - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

The duration of the course is 16-20 weeks. Guided learning hours are 8-10 hours per week dependent upon knowledge of the subject.

The course is for anyone who wants to build upon their existing IT and Internet skills to gain a practical qualification that is also attractive to employers.

The programme will allow you to learn at your own pace online, in your own home or workplace at a time that is convenient to you. Throughout your course you will also be supported by an online tutor.

Session 4 Slide formatting
Session 5 Animating your presentation
Session 6 Preparing your presentation


Spread sheet software
Session 1 Creating a spread sheet
Session 2 Managing spread sheets
Session 3 Analysing data
Session 4 Formatting and presenting data
Session 5 Charts and graphs
Session 6 Spread sheet quality control


Improving productivity using IT
Session 1 Approaching a task
Session 2 Planning work using IT
Session 3 Evaluating the use of IT
Session 4 Improving productivity and efficiency

Assessment Methods

Assessments are due at the end of each unit. Your tutor will assess your work and build up your portfolio of evidence of learning.

A certificate will be awarded on satisfactory submission of evidence of learning for the units studied.

Entry Requirements

Eligibility criteria for a FREE Level 2 Distance Learning

  • Learners must be aged 19 years or over as at 31/08/19

  • Must have lived in the EU for the last three years

  • Must currently reside in England, in a post code outside of
    Greater Manchester, Liverpool City, Cambridge & Peterborough, Tees Valley
    and the West Midlands.

  • If aged 19-24, must hold a full Level 2 qualification or above in any
    subject (i.e QCF Diploma Level 2, five GCSEs/O Levels grade A-C, two or three
    AS Levels, CSE grade 1 5 or more, one A Level, QCF Certificate, GNVQ
    Intermediate, First Diploma, NVQ Level 2, First Certificate or Principle of
    Learning Level 2).

I chose to study at BTC because of the excellent computing and IT facilities and, of the local colleges in the area, it seemed able to provide the best experience. My confidence has definitely developed during my time at the College. Interacting with new people and in a new environment has helped me come out of my comfort zone and progress personally.
