Learn to plan appropriate activities and experiences aimed to promote children’s self-esteem, learning and development. You will be taught a variety of techniques for building self-esteem, independence skills and behaviour management. You will learn to plan these activities within the constraints of the setting: taking into account the safety issues and needs of peers, children, carers and staff.
The Pearson SRF BTEC Level 2 Intermediate Award in Forest School Skills is for those wishing to run Forest School activities under supervision, on site, for example in a School, Nursery, Youth Club or Residential setting.
You will initially be assessed on the course and then by submission of assigned tasks. These tasks are planning and implementing Forest School sessions for a group of your people; create a staff handbook; complete a diary of the three days training; write two reports of your findings; and be practically assessed. You will be given completion dates for these tasks.

You must have suitable experience and or qualifications. If you intend to work with participants with learning disabilities then suitable experience and or qualifications are necessary to work with these groups. You will need to have access to a group of forest school learners (children, young adults etc.).
