Course Overview

This Level 2 course is designed to be suitable for people who volunteer or work in early year’s settings such as preschools or nurseries. It is assessed in a work situation and combines knowledge and practical skills. It is a flexible programme. Allow up to three terms to complete.

The course comprises a number of mandatory units, with optional units added on as appropriate to the learner’s role, in order to achieve the total number of unit credits for the qualification.

This award is recognised by the QCA and appears on the Qualifications Credit Framework. This course offers the opportunity to demonstrate competent performance of tasks related to work and to develop skills and potential.

Assessment Methods

There are no written exams for this course. Instead learners will build a portfolio which will include coursework and practical assessments in the workplace.

Progression Options

On completion of this course learners could apply to do the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator).
