2D Computer Aided Design Fast Track - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

This course is for the beginner, covering drawing set-up, 2D drawing techniques, editing, isometric drawing and plotting.

Learners will go from the initial stages of constructing simple diagrams through to being able to produce and edit full production drawings. Learners will learn how to produce two dimensional images and to use AutoCAD to produce a variety of drawings with the aid of step-by-step tutorials.

Assessment Methods

The training results in the completion of six engineering drawings to BS8888, which will be checked against NVQ competencies.

Progression Options

Successful completion of this course should aid career progression, and can lead to futher study in:

  • 2D Computer Aided Design Award Level 2
  • Solid Modelling Level 3
  • Parametric Solid Modelling

No previous CAD experience or qualifications are required – just an interest
in using CAD and some basic knowledge of how to operate a PC.
