Fire Watch/Extinguisher Training - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

This is a basic one-day course for all those involved in hot works, and general fire safety awareness including types and usage of fire extinguishers.

Candidates will learn about the practical use of fire extinguishers.

Units of study:

•Evaluate the role of the ‘Fire Watcher’
•Identify principles and practice of fire safety
•Clarify the fire risk and fire risk controls
•Identify ignition sources
•Define methods of preventing ignition
•Classify types of domestic fire extinguishers
•Demonstrate safe operational use of extinguishers.

Assessment Methods

This course is classroom-based tuition with practical exercises and a multiple choice question paper at end of course.
