The Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support is an occupational qualification for learners who work in Healthcare Support roles in England, in the following areas of Healthcare provision: 1.Adult Nursing
2.Maternity Support 3.Theatre Support 4.Children and Young People 4.Mental Health 5.Allied Health Profession Therapy Support including Dietetics; Physiotherapy; Occupational Therapy; Speech and Language Therapy; Podiatry Support; Prosthetics/Orthotic Support.
This qualifications consists of mandatory units covering knowledge and skills competencies with optional specialisms which can be are combined in flexible ways to reflect the real working context of different learners. The optional units are designed to meet the requirements of a range of healthcare services and include the following areas.

The Healthcare Support diploma provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to work in a variety of health and social care settings; from helping people with a particular need to providing vital assistance to healthcare professionals in the care of patients. It follows work-based learning towards a Level 3 qualification (equivalent to 2 A-levels). To start this level you should ideally have five GCSEs (grade C or above) or have completed an intermediate level apprenticeship or equivalent level 2.
The role as a Senior Healthcare worker is undertaken following a period of experience in healthcare so you are able to demonstrate best practice and act as a role model. You may supervise or guide the less experienced staff in your team. You will follow the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers, the multi-professional HEE Quality Framework and the 6Cs.
The Level 3 Diploma Healthcare Diploma is an occupational qualification for learners who work in Healthcare settings in England. The qualification provides the knowledge and skills for workers who have roles with responsibilities with key responsibilities for delivery of care and support and /or a level of supervisory responsibility for others such as; senior healthcare worker, lead personal assistant or key worker, integrated domiciliary senior care worker.
Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker is a competence-based qualification which is assessed by a portfolio of evidence. You we be measured against learning outcomes and assessment criteria described in each unit of the qualification. You must meet all the learning outcomes within the chosen units and meet the rules of combination to be able to be awarded the qualification. The majority of assessment will be work-based, using real experiences, written assessments and observations by a qualified assessor.

This qualification allows you to learn, develop and demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for employment and/or career progression in Adult Care within a role which has some autonomy, delegated responsibility or where there may be a need for supervision of others. Learners can progress to the Pre-registration Nursing, Trainee Nursing Associate Apprenticeship or the Higher Advanced City & Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Assistant Practitioner (Health) providing they are in an appropriate job role.
