Course Overview

This course is for those interested in the topic of growing organically and without chemicals. It is delivered online using our Virtual Classroom.

This is course is part of a range of themed adult courses offered each year on important gardening topics. It is delivered by a senior member of our horticulture team with long experience in the industry.

An introduction to the History and Principles of Organic Gardening covering key topics including; The History of the Organic Movement, Conversion and Certification, and a range of practical techniques to help you grow organically

Assessment Methods

This is a non accredited course and includes no formal assessments. Students are encouraged to research topics each week and will be provided with a list of books and other resources to support their studies.

Progression Options

We run a number of Horticulture courses including a City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 Horticulture as well as part-time RHS accredited courses in Horticulture at levels 2 & 3. There are also a range of online virtual evening classes on other specialist horticulture topics during the year.

Once I complete my course, my dream is to work for The National Trust or travel and find employment in gardens abroad. The course has helped me see all the opportunities available to me, so I feel confident my future looks bright.
