Course Overview

This qualification has been primarily designed to meet the needs of apprentices and new or existing personnel who wish to develop an understanding of the requirements of health physics monitoring in the nuclear industry. It will provide the underpinning knowledge required for health physics monitoring in the nuclear industry.

The course teaches the underpinning knowledge required for health physics monitoring, enables a grounding for anyone wanting to enter the nuclear sector, and is delivered in the new dediated National College for Nuclear.

– Induction to Radiation Protection
– Risk and Dose Restriction
– Radiation Protection Equipment
– Theory of Workplace Monitoring and Contamination Control.

Progression Options

Radiation Protection Level 2 NVQ (work placement required).
