This course is offered to individuals already working or wishing to work in the fitness industry, who would like to study through work-based learning.
There are no pre-defined entry routes, however learners wishing to progress into this Apprenticeship programme will require a minimum Level 1 in Maths & English. The programme places great emphasis on practical ability, backed up with an understanding of the principals involved. The Apprenticeship offers high quality training, to meet the Sports & Leisure industry standards. The qualification was designed for employers and ensures that the training received will equip candidates with the skills needed by the industry.
Learnerswill receive practical training designed to develop knowledge and competence at carrying out relevant real-life tasks that employers will value.

Assessment is through multiple choice exams, online assessments, practical assessments and a portfolio of evidence. You will be regularly visited by a qualified Assessor to check progress and ensure you are building evidence towards your final qualification.
Successful completion of the course could lead to employment opportunities within the industry or progress to Level 3 (Advanced Apprenticeship). Candidates may progress to study a Foundation Degree at Level 4 and 5 within Sports Coaching, Health, Fitness & Exercise, Sports Development, Sports Science and Leisure Management Level 4 and 5.

This course has taught me a lot of useful skills like being organised to help prioritise my workload and meet deadlines and communicating effectively which is essential when coaching sports.
