The course is for individuals who are looking for an apprenticeship in sport or leisure related sectors and to combine work with study. There are no pre-defined entry routes, but learners must be employed in an environment where they are managing both wet and dry sports facilities. The programme places great emphasis on practical ability backed up with an understanding of how to manage facilities. The apprenticeship offers high quality training and is a new standard developed by employers to ensure that candidates are equipped with the skills needed for the industry.
This apprenticeship will enable the learner to develop the knowledge and skills to manage a wide range of sport facilities to include swimming pools, sports halls, pitches, gyms and exercise studios.

After completing this apprenticeship, learners may progress to a foundation degree in sport or a relevant degree/higher qualification.

This course has taught me a lot of useful skills like being organised to help prioritise my workload and meet deadlines and communicating effectively which is essential when coaching sports.
