Teaching Assistants with Physical Education will work in schools with primary aged pupils. The apprentice will support the class teacher to enhance pupils learning with physical education practice, either in groups or individually, ensuring pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task in order to make progress. Promoting self-belief, social inclusion and a high self-esteem play an integral part to pupils well-being; ensuring pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing, safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access physical education.

This apprenticeship will be assessed through an End Point Assessment (EPA), which consists of:
The embedded qualification(s) will be centre assessed.
During the apprenticeship, learners will be visited regularly by a qualified assessor to check progression and ensure they are bulding evidence towards their EPA.
Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to the Higher level teaching assistant or a Teaching/Sport Degree.

This course has taught me a lot of useful skills like being organised to help prioritise my workload and meet deadlines and communicating effectively which is essential when coaching sports.
