The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is the equivalent replacement for the previous offer of Level 4 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS).
The course concentrates on establishing your skills as a trainer. The regular taught sessions, workplace support, training practice and focused self-evaluation all combine to help the leaners improve their training and professional practice. We will help learners to:
The course will be delivered via classroom teaching sessions, small group seminars and one to one tutorials, with further one to one feedback provided during the session observations. Supporting materials will also be provided on the Colleges Virtual Learning Environment. Learners will be assessed through a series of seminar presentations, case studies, reports and observed training sessions.

If learners are working in further and adult education or in business, industry or public services, and have a restricted teaching or training role, this course gives them the qualification they need. It provides them with the opportunity to understand the background to current education practice as well as gaining all the skills they need to become a successful practitioner. If they successfully achieve the Level 4 Certificate they can progress to the Level 5 Diploma by completing a bridging unit and undertaking a second year, the subject tutor will be able to discuss this further with you at interview.
