Course Overview

The role of a Customer Service Practitioner is to deliver high quality products and services to the customers of their organisation. Your actions will influence the customer experience and their satisfaction with your organisation. Key responsibilities are likely to include dealing with orders, payments, offering advice, guidance and support, meet-and-greet, sales, fixing problems, handling complaints , after care, service recovery or gaining insight through measuring customer satisfaction, being the first point of contact and work in any sector or organisation type.

  • The customer experience
  • Product and service knowledge

This qualification covers the essentials of business administration, allowing you to develop the skills and understanding required for an administrative role in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

An example of the areas covered is as follows:

  • Communicate in a business environment
  • Work with other people in a business environment
  • Provide reception services
  • Use a Diary System
  • Handle Mail
  • Use electronic message systems
  • Store and Retrieve Information

You will cover the mandatory core units and then a choice of optional units, which the assessor can support in selection, to meet the business needs.

Assessment Methods

On-programme assessment  will include delivery of essential knowledge modules and an e-portfolio assessing  competence. You will prepare for end point assessment which will include a showcase, practical observation and professional discussion.

In addition:

If you are in a dual role that would benefit from a Certificate in Business and Administration, we are pleased to offer this at no additional cost.  This will be on programme assessed in addition to the apprenticeship end point assessment and opportunities will occur for the evidence to cross reference.

Progression Options

Completion of this apprenticeship will lead to eligibility to join the Institute of Customer Service as an individual member at professional level.  You could be offered a permanent contract with your employer and work towards possible careers in managing customer service or, if the role is suitable, progression on to the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.
