You need to be employed to start an Apprenticeship. Please visit our vacancy page or if you have an employer, please ensure you add full contact details of your employer within your application. If you are unable to secure employment, you could enrol on a full-time study programme and transfer to an Apprenticeship at a later date. Please apply for a full-time course as your second option.
This qualification prepares you if you want to enter or progress within livestock production areas of agriculture. Depending which is more convenient, you will attend weekly theory lessons at our Cannington campus or in Shepton Mallet.
Assessment includes an end-point assessment which includes a practical and multiple choice, and professional discussion. Continuous assessment takes place in your workplace through practical sessions and you must compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.
On successful completion, you could progress to supervisory level employment within the industry or continue your studies with a Level 3 Apprenticeship.

There are no entry requirements, but course entry is subject to a successful interview and successful completion of an English and math initial assessment, and if you have not achieved a grade 4 (C) in GCSE English and maths, you will work towards a functional skills qualification during your learning.
I love the farm duties and working with the animals. It's brilliant here. I've made lots of friends, gained in confidence and now have knowledge of all areas of farming.
