This successful and established course is designed for those who have an interest in film, radio, television, videography and a desire to follow a media-related career. Students will explore a range of skills linked to their specialist choice to ensure they have the knowledge and experience to enter the creative industries. There are lots of opportunities to work across the curriculum with photographers, animators, sound technicians, performers and musicians. The course builds skills in year one to prepare students to work on live briefs with clear industry links and with local employers to enhance your skills and portfolio.
Formal assessment will be based on evidence gained through work undertaken in practical and written assignments. Your tutor will also assess you through observation whilst you are carrying out these assignments and these grades will contribute towards your final assessment grade.
Throughout the course, you will be given support and advice when making applications to university and you will be assisted in the preparation of a portfolio of your work for university or job interviews. Previous students have progressed to top universities and in some cases, straight into industry both locally and nationally.

My animation skills have improved greatly since I have been learning at BTC. The College uses specialist software such as Adobe Animate and the equipment we use is the same that is used in industry. Alongside my course I am a member of the BTC Animation Academy where we do even more animation and enter competitions.
