If you are looking for a career in the media industry, this Apprenticeship is for you. A Junior Content Producer (also referred to as a Creative Content Assistant) is responsible for developing and creating content that can be used across a variety of media including digital, social media, broadcast or in print. Working to the customer/client brief, they research, prepare and develop the media messaging to maximise audience engagement, capturing the strategy and objectives of the brand and needs of the customer they are representing. The content they create can be used as part of media, advertising and marketing campaigns. They have to capture what is exciting about a campaign and design the elements that can be used across media platforms and channels.
The job role will involve collaboration with others (for example web developers) to create content for the web and may also include creating video, photography graphics, text (or copy) and social media content. They can work in advertising, marketing or digital agencies, or in interactive roles for broadcasters. Content producer roles can also be found in a wide range of businesses, such as in-house marketing and communication teams for example.
Junior Content Producers may progress into Content Creation/Development roles at more senior levels across the industry, including with digital agencies, broadcasters and publishers.

Enthusiasm for technology, creating great online experiences and working as part of a team are a must.
You will be appointed an Assessor who will visit you in the workplace and assess your progress. Some of these visits will provide you with evidence that you can use towards our qualification.
One day a week you will work on your college course work (with support from your Assessor) gaining the underpinning knowledge required.
You can start this apprenticeship at any time of year.
You will be assessed by portfolio (presenting examples from your job role), discussion, assignments, practical observations and presentations.
At the end of the course you will undertake an End Point Assessment by an external organisation where there will be an observation, creative set brief test and pitch, and professional discussion to determine the overall grade. Your Assessor will obtain evidence that you meet the required standards throughout your training and are prepared for the assessment.
Functional Skills in maths and English are required at Level 2 (exemption may apply).
On successful completion you could find full-time employment or apply to university.

You need GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in maths and English and an interest/experience content production. You will complete an initial assessment in maths and English and attend an interview. You will also need a suitable employer able and willing to support you during your Apprenticeship programme. |

My animation skills have improved greatly since I have been learning at BTC. The College uses specialist software such as Adobe Animate and the equipment we use is the same that is used in industry. Alongside my course I am a member of the BTC Animation Academy where we do even more animation and enter competitions.
