Digital: Data Management T Level - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

T Levels are new, two-year technical study programmes, designed with employers to give young people the skills that industry needs.

T Levels provide a mixture of the following:

  • Technical knowledge and skills specific to their chosen industry or occupation.
  • An industry placement of at least 45 days in their chosen industry or occupation.
  • Relevant maths, English and digital skills.

In this course you will learn the essentials of all digital roles by understanding data and digital systems, how software and business interact, security, testing, planning and legal issues. You then build on this by developing specialist skills as a data technician to understand how to source, analyse and interpret data to support business needs.

This course will give you the knowledge and practical skillsneeded to understandhow data is used within the digital sector. You will learn how to analysetheways in whichbusinesses use data to recognise patterns and make recommendations for the future, as well as keeping data secure and ensuring businesses stick to current laws and legislations.

This qualification includes a mixture of classroom learning and on-the-job experience during an industry placement of at least 315 to 420 hours.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is through a variety of methods including exams, practical projects set by employers, case studies, presentations and externally examined coursework tasks.

Progression Options

On completion, you could find employment in a skilled occupation or study a Higher or Degree Level Apprenticeship, or higher level technical qualification. T Levels provide you with UCAS points that count towards degree-level entry requirements if you’d like to progress to university.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements include five GCSEs in the 9 to 4 range with a minimum
of grade 5 in English and maths, plus a keen interest in the topic. Entry is
subject to a successful interview.
