T Levels aretwo year technical courses, equivalent to three A Levels and are ideal if you want to get into a skilled job.
This two-year course has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses to provide an in-depth understanding of context, concepts, theories, principles and core skills. The breadth of content will ensure you are able to apply your skills in a variety of environments for different purposes.

These topics could include areas such as problem solving, programming, emerging issues and how they impact society, as well as legislation and regulation of the digital environment. You will delve into howdigital is usedin a business context, dataand cyber security.
The project develops your occupational specialism as you analyse a problem and design a solution. This requires planning, the development of system protocols, problem solving, feedback, and tools and testing.
Around 80% of your time is spent at College with the remaining 20% at your industry placement. Along with specialist teaching at BTC, your industry placement is a key part of the programme. Experience with a real employer in a real workplace will allow you to apply the skills and knowledge you learn in the classroom to the job, giving you a taste of the world of work you can expect once you complete your studies.
Assessment is through a variety of methods including exams, practical projects set by employers, assignments, case studies, presentations and externally examined coursework tasks.
You may need to compile a portfolio of evidence to present at the end of the course for assessment purposes. This qualification includes a mixture of classroom learning and on-the-job experience during an industry placement of at least 315 to 420 hours.
Following a T Level, you could find skilled employment, or progress to Higher Education. This could take the form of a Higher or Degree Apprenticeship, or Foundation Degree in Computing & Internet Technologies at University Centre Somerset, with the opportunity to top-up to a BSc (Hons) Computing & Internet Technologies.
