T Levels are two year technical courses, equivalent to three A Levels and are ideal if you want to get into a skilled job.
Civil engineering is an amazing career path to follow and the T Level is a great opportunity for you to start that journey.
Everything you see that’s been designed and built in today’s world such as, schools, offices, hospitals, bridges, power stations and water supplies that connect the world around us will have been produced by Civil Engineers. As a Civil Engineer you would have the opportunity to work on these exciting projects and the future projects that haven’t even been considered yet to meet the demands of an ever changing world.
This challenging and exciting two year study programme provides you with a Level 3 qualificationand equips you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to succeed in the industry. Furthermore the T Level is accepted and highly regarded by universities and employers.
T Levels have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work. They offer a unique mixture of classroom learning and ‘on-the-job’ experience during an industry placement.

Around 80% of your time is spent at College with the remaining 20% at your industry placement. Along with specialist teaching at BTC, your industry placement is a key part of the programme. Experience with a real employer in a real workplace will allow you to apply the skills and knowledge you learn in the classroom to the job, giving you a taste of the world of work you can expect once you complete your studies.
You will be assessed through written and practical examinations, employer projects, group work, presentations and analysis.
On successful completion, you could find employment in a skilled occupation or study a Higher or Degree Level Apprenticeship, or higher level technical qualification.

I was really interested in the College because it has a good selection of tools and machinery, great tutors and I liked the workshops. It also offers courses from Level 1 to 3 in furniture making and design, which meant I could start at Level 1 and build my skills, plus I study maths alongside my course.
