Course Overview

Civil engineering is an amazing career path to follow and the T Level is a great opportunity for you to start that journey.

Everything you see that’s been designed and built in today’s world such as, schools, offices, hospitals, bridges, power stations and water supplies that connect the world around us will have been produced by Civil Engineers.

The T Level in Design, Surveying & Planning for Constructionconsists of:

  • A technical qualification in design, sustainability, science, building technology and digital technology
  • Occupational specialism in surveying and design for construction and the built environment
  • Enrichment and tutorial support

Assessment Methods

You will be assessed through written and practical examinations, employer projects, group work, presentations and analysis. This qualification includes a mixture of classroom learning and on-the-job experience during an industry placement of at least 45 days.

Progression Options

On successful completion, you could find employment in a skilled occupation or study a Higher or Degree Apprenticeship, degree, or higher level technical qualification.

I was really interested in the College because it has a good selection of tools and machinery, great tutors and I liked the workshops. It also offers courses from Level 1 to 3 in furniture making and design, which meant I could start at Level 1 and build my skills, plus I study maths alongside my course.
