Countryside and Environment Apprenticeship Level 2 - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

This Apprenticeship offers high quality training to meet the countryside industry standards. The qualification was designed by the industry for employers, and this ensures that the training you receive will equip you with the skills needed by the industry. You will be assisted by the College to find a suitable work placement with a local employer and attend College one day per week to work towards gaining detailed underpinning knowledge of the industry.

Units could include:

  • Establish and protect moorland vegetation
  • Maintaining plants
  • Environmental machinery
  • Identification and use of plants
  • Carry out habitat management

Assessment Methods

Practical assessment takes place throughout the course and you will compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence.

Progression Options

If you have completed the Level 2 Apprenticeship, you could progress to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. Alternatively, you could find employment at supervisory level within the industry.

Entry Requirements

You need five GCSEs in the 9 to 2 range and sponsorship by an employer in
the form of a letter of recommendation and support. Course entry is subject to
an initial assessment in order to determine the appropriate level of study and a
successful interview.
