This challenging and exciting course focuses on childcare and education from 0 to 19, including child development, psychology and behaviours. Topics include pedagogical approaches (teaching approaches), child development, attachment and behaviour, working with others, types of education provision, SEND, reflective practice, EAL, safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing. In the second year, you focus within the 0 to seven age range where you build your knowledge and skills alongside demonstrating your competence in industry placement.

This qualification includes a mixture of classroom learning and on-the-job experience during an industry placement of a minimum of 750 hours across the two years. This amount of experience provides you with a licence to practise in earlyyearseducation and care.
You will be assessed through written and practical examinations, employer projects, group work, presentations and analysis.
On successful completion, you could find employment in an early years setting such as primary education or nursery. Alternatively, you could progress to study a Higher or Degree Apprenticeship, degree or higher level technical qualification. Many students use the T level to begin their progress onto a teaching degree.

You need five GCSEs in the 9 to 4 range with grade 5 in English and grade 4 in Maths and Science at grade 4, as well as a keen interest in the topic and some work experience with children. Entry is subject to a successful interview and an enhanced DBS.
If you have not achieved the required grades to start a T Level, you could complete a tailored transition programme designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to progress to the Level 3 T Level, subject to your GCSEs.
I really enjoy studying here. My lessons have a friendly atmosphere and the tutors push me to be the best I can be. Studying here has allowed me to gain the qualifications I need to go on to a degree!
