In todays world, Engineers work in an environment that encompasses the use of cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions. Engineering is a fast-moving, exciting career which incorporates the continuing development of products and systems, where you could find yourself designing the next generation of smartphones, programming robots, manufacturing components for fighter jets or developing sustainable energy.
The T Level consists of a technical qualification in manufacturing processing and control engineering, an employer-set project designed to combine core knowledge and skills to develop a substantial piece of work in response to an employer-set brief, and an occupational specialism in manufacturing technologies.
This qualification includes a mixture of classroom learning and on-the-job experience during an industry placement of at least 45 days.
Units could include:
You will attend College for at least three days a week and be expected to complete written assignment work in self-study time at home.
A fee is payable for students on the course to cover materials, clothing and PPE.
You will be assessed through written and practical examinations, employer projects, group work, presentations and analysis.
This qualification is intended for those who want to progress to a career in a manufacturing engineering environment and will provide you with comprehensive technical training needed for todays professional engineering industry. You will develop extensive skills and knowledge that make you stand out from the crowd when entering university or starting a Higher or Degree Apprenticeship. Alternatively, you could find employment in a skilled engineering occupation.
