Health and Social Care Level 2 T Level Transition Programme - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Course Overview

This one-year bespoke course will support your progression to the T Level in Health (Nursing) qualification and is for those who may not have met the grade requirements for the T Level or who need to develop further before starting the T Level. This course has been designed to help you develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need to be successful on a T Level programme.

You may cover aspects of health and social care including:

  • Human growth and development
  • Working in health and social care
  • Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care
  • Communication in health and social care

This course is mainly classroom based, but also includes 100 hours in the workplace that allows you to practically apply your study of the sector in a range of suitable settings. This will prepare you for the 45 days that need to be completed on the T Level as well as improving your knowledge and developing key employment skills.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence using a range of assessment methods. These may include assignments, individual research, project work, presentations and written assignments.

Progression Options

On successful completion of the course and meeting the grade and GCSE requirements, you could progress to the Health (Nursing) T Level. Alternatively, you could find employment as a Care Assistant, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, or start an Apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

You need five GCSEs in the 9 to 3 range including English language, maths and science. It is important you have a good level of spoken and written English. You are required to attend an interview and need a clear enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
