For one evening only, Performing Arts are exploring truth and lies, whilst Dance investigate the very current subject of the refugee crisis.
This is the second major performance following on from the successful Showcase last November. This time the focus is on second year students who have been working on a creative project where they have to collaborate in order to produce and perform a show working as a small team.
Performing Arts are focusing on the truth of acting through the lens of characters full of lies. This is executed (no pun intended) through the play adaption of AND THEN THERE WERE NONE, the best-selling crime novel from Agatha Christie, the Queen of the ‘whodunnit’ genre.
Set on an deserted island, the inhabitants are slowly being picked off one by one. They are alone stranded in a manor house. Alongside paranoia and suspicion only one question remains… who is the killer?
Style: Naturalism using the acting methods of Meisner & Strasberg.
Dance are looking at the very current subject of the refugee crisis. This topic is being explored through working methods of famed choreographer, Crystal Pite, known for works that courageously address such challenging and complex themes as conflict, consciousness and mortality. The second year Dancers have been devising original movement as a collective whilst directing with first year dancers who will make up the ensemble for the powerful performance.
Style: A fusion of Cotemporary and Ballet.
BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS EVENT.
