We offer courses where no prior qualifications or experience is necessary, through to postgraduate Level 7 courses, and with our Distance Learning courses, you don't have to attend College.
As well as a huge variety of subjects to choose from, there are also various levels for differing abilities and requirements. You can learn a new skill or hobby with our leisure type courses, or earn professional and university level qualifications with University Centre Somerset.
With so many opportunities available, our teams offer an impartial, confidential service to help you decide which type or level of course is best for you, and provide information about funding, health and wellbeing, plus support for those with learning difficulties and disabilities.

Applying to study a course at College may seem daunting but we’re here to help support you in making the right choice and inform you of the options and opportunities available to you as a student.
We strongly recommend that you enrol for our advertised courses as soon as possible. This will ensure you get a place and help us assess whether we have sufficient numbers for the course to commence on the start date listed. We aim to run all of the courses advertised however, we do need a minimum number of enrolments on each class to make this possible.
Courses marked ‘Apply’ require you to complete an application form. You can do this online via the course page or by completing the form by hand and sending it back to us.
Once we have received your application we will arrange an interview with the subject tutor to ensure that the course is right for you.
To apply online, click the ‘Apply’ button at the bottom of the course information page, you will then be able to complete and submit the form directly to us.
If you would prefer to complete the application form by hand, please download the form or alternatively call our Information and Guidance team on 01278 441234 and they will send one to you. Return the form fully completed to, Information & Guidance Team, Bridgwater & Taunton College, Bath Road, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 4PZ.
Courses marked ‘Enrol’ require you to complete an enrolment form and provide payment for the course. If you can enrol directly for a course, there will be a link for online enrolment on the course page. Alternatively, you can complete an enrolment form by hand or enrol in person, or over the telephone with our Information and Guidance team.
To enrol online, click the button at the bottom of the course information page, then follow the steps to complete the enrolment. To enrol online you must be aged 19 or over, have been resident in the UK for the past three years, and able to pay in full by credit or debit card.
If you wish to complete an enrolment form by hand you can visit our Information & Guidance Team at our Bridgwater campus (located next to reception). Please note you will need to make a full payment at the time of enrolment by cash, cheque or credit/debit card.
If you wish to enrol over the telephone, please call the Information & Guidance team on 01278 441234 between the hours of 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 4.30pm on Fridays, during term time. You will need to have the course details to hand, plus the debit or credit card you wish to charge your course against.
Please note: if you are eligible for a fee remission, you will need to enrol in person so that you can sign to prove you are eligible, and we may need to see evidence. Contact us on 01278 441234 to find out which documents you will need to provide.
Courses marked ‘Telephone’ require you to call 01278 441234. For some courses, particularly those with flexible start dates, you will need to call to obtain further information. Courses will run on demand, so by registering your interest with us, it helps us to determine the popularity of our courses, when we can run them, and how often.
For full-time university level courses, you must apply through UCAS. You will need to quote the UCAS course code which is obtainable directly from UCAS at www.ucas.com or from the University Centre Somerset website. Please contact the Admissions Team on 01278 441220 if you need further information or help when completing your UCAS application form.
