Alice Sandiford, who’s studying Equine Management had an incredibly successful month with her horse, Ruby.
Alice is part of the College’s Equine Competition Team and completed in the 100cm National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) One Day Event at Stonar. She achieved with a double clear in the jumping phases, finishing just outside of the top ten after her dressage.
On the following Saturday she went on to compete in the British show jumping Just for Schools competition, finishing with a first in both the 100cm and 110cm classes.
Not one for taking a rest, the following weekend Alice competed in the NSEA Jumping With Style at Hickstead. Finishing with an individual fifth in the 90cm and sixth in the 100cm, which is a huge achievement taking into consideration the number of entries. Alice continued her success, competing in the 100cm Championship, where she was placed fourteenth. The pair went on to compete in the Elite 110cm show jumping class to finish on an individual fourth. They jumped brilliantly and to be placed in every class is an amazing achievement!
It’s amazing to have the opportunity to jump at Hickstead and represent the College. I was absolutely thrilled with the way Ruby jumped; I couldn’t fault her performance, and the atmosphere was amazing. NSEA is as a great organisation that allows you to represent your school or college at incredible venues. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone.
Alice’s success continued at the Bath & West Show, competing in the British Show jumping Just for Schools where she finished second in 100cm.
The team at BTC would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Alice and wish her luck with her forthcoming event, NSEA Show Jumping at Rectory Farm.
