Agricultural Management Degree Student Holly Wins Silver at Pinnacle Awards - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Holly Bonner has won the silver Farmers Club Pinnacle Award for Excellence in Business Management.

We are delighted that not one, but two University Centre Somerset students were selected as finalists in the prestigious Farmers Club Pinnacle Awards 2024.

The Pinnacle Awards are an opportunity for outstanding students from top university courses to demonstrate excellence in farm management. Eight students from across the UK are shortlisted for the top prizes, submitting a project that shows a range of high-level knowledge and skills.

Holly Bonner and Jade Ely occupied two of the eight finalist spots, making UCS the only institution to have two finalists in the competition. Even more impressive is that this is the second year in a row that two UCS students made it to the finals.

As finalists, Holly and Jade gave interview presentations to a judging panel and attended the Awards dinner and at the Farmers Club in Whitehall, London on Thursday 9 May.

Holly Bonner went on to win the silver Farmers Club Pinnacle Award for Excellence in Business Management, which was presented to her by Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

Dan Rood, Agricultural Management Course Leader at UCS, said,

Holly and Jade follow in the path of many UCS students who have achieved success in previous Pinnacle Awards. My colleague, Richard West, has done a sterling job of helping all of these students with his tireless support and expertise. We congratulate Holly and Jade on their fantastic achievements.

The support that our students receive to be able to enter these awards is just one exciting aspect of studying Agricultural Management at UCS. Find out more about the Foundation Degree and Top-up year here.
