BHS Stage Two Exams Assessment - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Danny Anholt FBHS (BE Accredited) Fellow of the British Horse Society (BHS) visited the Cannington Equestrian Centre to assess the horses and Centres capability and standard of training. His visit was to determine if the Centre could hold BHS Stage Two examinations.

The team worked extremely hard to ensure the facilities and horses were looking their very best. The horses were bathed, the tack cleaned and stables set the arenas looked professional and tidy.

Everyone involved wanted to do well and make the College proud of their achievements. Danny provided words of encouragement throughout the assessment helping to relax those involved in the riding assessments. After each stage, riding on the flat, lunge and jump, Danny gave constructive and tailored feedback to each rider and horse.

To everyone’s delight Cannington Equestrian Centre passed their assessment and are now accredited to hold BHS Stage 2 Care, Ride and Lunge assessments and Stage 2 Teach assessments.

Debbie Ball, Curriculum Manager for Equine Studies said,

I am extremely proud of the staff and students for supporting the Centres vision for becoming an accredited examination venue. Receiving this endorsement will strengthen the position of our Centre within the industry.

Ashton and Jasmine, Equine Studies students said,

We are very proud of ours, and our peers achievements but also the staff’s dedication and hard work with the horses. We are prouder than ever to wear the BTC equine name on our clothing and are excited to be given the opportunity to progress through the BHS levels with BTC.
