College Salons Offering Free Haircuts for Foodbank Users - Bridgwater & Taunton College

Kind-hearted students at Bridgwater and Taunton College are giving away free haircuts to people in need all year round.

Students from the hairdressing and barber groups are offering free treatments to support people accessing their local food banks. The team are coming together to offer  a range of services including:

  • Free shampoo, cut and blow-dry for women.
  • Free shampoo, haircut and beard trim for men.

Karen Laird, course leader for hairdressing at the College, said:

Life these days for the majority of us is getting much, much busier and, a lot more expensive. I was really keen to support others in our local neighbourhoods and be able to give people a treat. This opportunity also allowed our students to use their creative skills and gain further experience working with our wider community. A range of treatments is available at both College salons in Bridgwater and Taunton.

Vouchers will be given out across Somerset to users of food banks so that they can access these services. The vouches can be used all year round.
