Learners were also given the chance to try out new board games that had been released as well as hands on experiences with the newest virtual reality offerings, including Syren from Hammerhead Studios, built in Unreal Engine.

Lecturer, David Matravers said,

“It was an exciting experience for both staff and students. The virtual reality headsets were a real highlight. I’m looking forward to going again next year to see and experience the developments within the industry.”

A student who studies A Level Computing said,

“I queued for a while to have a go on Oculus Rifts as I had not played with hand controllers before. It was a little disorientating at first, but really great when you get used to it. I feel really lucky to have had the opportunity to go to this festival.”
