On 17 October the Men’s BTC Badminton team played their first ever league fixtures under Team BTC, competing against Wellington, Kingsmead and Queens.

As opening fixtures go the team, consisting of skipper Mawgan Andrews, Jamie Savage, Sam Thomas and Callum Mignano, got off to a tremendous start and confidently cemented their second place position after the first round.

Whilst individual performances are developing, Sam and Jamie going unbeaten plus a superb effort from Callum to secure bonus points in all of his singles matches were the highlights from very positive round.

The team proved stronger in doubles, only dropping two points. This is encouraging as it is an area they have worked on during BTC training sessions.
