Men’s 1 Football

Team BTC 2-3 South Devon

What an opener! Pfupa scored after 40 seconds with a great finish just inside the 18 yard box, assisted by Kearley. After 20 minutes, South Devon pulled one back, a glancing header at the near post from a corner crept its way in and South Devon equalised. 29 minutes, a swerving free kick penetrates the net, leaving the goalkeeper no chance and South Devon come from behind to make it 2-1.

Not long into the second half and after a scramble in the six yard box, Pfupa earned a well fought equaliser and buried it into the bottom corner. Only three minutes after the equaliser, South Devon got a third after a mistake in midfield by Team BTC.

Men’s 3 Football

Yeovil 3-3 Team BTC

Team BTC Men’s 3 Football travelled to Yeovil College in their first game of 2023. Team BTC started the game well and dominated possession but found themselves 2-0 down. Team BTC got themselves back into the game 15 mins before half-time. Jake Leavy produced an outstanding dribble from 40 years out, composed himself and finished in style, hitting the net. Team BTC pushed for the equaliser before half-time but it ended 2-1.

The second half – Team BTC again dominated with the wind now behind them and got a deserved equaliser from Charlie Turner. Now pushing for the win after coming from 2-0 down, Yeovil scored another goal against the run of play. Team BTC showed their character once more and got a deserved equaliser from Billy Scotting to make it 3-3.

Women’s Football

Chichester 2-4 Team BTC

Team BTC took the long trip to Chichester for a top of the table clash. Team BTC went 1-0 down in the first five minutes but quickly reacted with a high press where Ford won the ball and played into Barry for an edge of the box finish. Due to injuries Team BTC went down to 10 players and conceded on a corner from the overload making it 2-1 to Chichester at half-time.

It didn’t take long for Team BTC to get the equaliser. The keeper made an outstanding save, after a shot from Barry, which fell at Fords feet, playing into Charles on the back post to finish. Team BTC kept the momentum and shortly after Barry put a cross into Charles to score her second of the day. In the last five minutes of the game Team BTC won a corner where an outstanding delivery from Banfield landed perfectly for Barry to header into the net.

Netball 1

Weston 28-21 Team BTC

A brilliant start to 2023 from Team BTC Netball. The team put themselves in a great position going into the second half. Team BTC were leading the game until an outstanding last quarter from Weston who pulled out the win.
