Team BTC Women's Team Continue Winning Streak As They Beat Rivals Richard Huish - Bridgwater & Taunton College

This Wednesday Team BTC travelled to Taunton to play Richard Huish. The first quarter started off slow, with lots of interceptions from both teams. We were able to turn over a lot of balls from Huish but we were unable to get them to goal, as their defence read the passes we were sending. The first quarter ended 8-6 to BTC.

After making a few changes for the second quarter Team BTC gained a lead and were successful in scoring. The defence turned over possession of the ball and the centre court players brought the ball down the court well. With accuracy from the shooters BTC played their best quarter scoring 19 goals and only allowing Huish to score two, ending the second quarter with BTC in the lead 27-8.

In the third quarter, Team BTC worked hard to continuously gain possession of the ball, with the defence obtaining some fantastic rebounds from Huish. This meant that we got an even bigger lead and finished the third quarter 40-17 to BTC.

In the final quarter a few more changes were made and although we were winning we never gave up fighting for the ball, giving 100% effort until the very end. This fight enabled us to end up winning the game 50-25, allowing us to keep up our winning streak.

Team of the week: Another great match for Netball this week – continuing our winning streak and we are still unbeaten this season. We had a great game and in one quarter scored 19 goals and only allowed Huish to score two. A whole team effort and the whole squad got to play.

Athlete of the Week: Captain Lilly Paul. She worked tirelessly throughout the game, playing in both attack and defence. She consistently plays well, giving 100% and changed the game when playing in the attacking half with pinpoint feeds into the D.
